My weight has been constant ever since I decided, 34 years ago, to lower my weight and to keep it low.

  • My father died of a heart attack
  • My mother died of a heart attack
  • My eldest brother died of a heart attack at the age of 49
  • My other brother had a triple heart bypass surgery at the age of 49

I became very conscious of my responsibilities as a husband and a father and I owed it to my family to try to be around as long as possible. This motivated me to lose weight and to keep it low.

Because of the genetics in my family with heart problems, I understood 34 years ago that it was essential for me to control my weight. Of course, everybody can benefit from a low weight and everybody looks so much better when their weight is low.

At an age, where most people of my age only talk about their aches, I play 3 hours of tennis –single- every week at a very good level and I also still work full time.

I have learnt not to be judgmental: some of my close family members are heavy to my great despair. They already have, at a young age, all kinds of health problems. Not only do they not want to listen to me, but sometimes they laugh at me: so far I have the last laugh!
